My Guide to Palm Springs

Take me to the dessert.

I am back with another travel guide before the weather begins to warm up. A few weeks ago, I wanted to escape the hustle and bustle of LA life and get away for a bit. Lucky for me, there was a horse show in the dessert so a few friends and myself headed out to Palm Springs. While in the area, I put together a list of where to stay, eat, and do. .

Palm Springs is truly a desert gem that keeps on giving. Each visit to this city can feel like a brand new one because it’s constantly upgrading; new buildings, hotels, stores and restaurants pop up on a regular basis, ensuring that no two visits will ever be the same! The overall vibe of this city is extremely eclectic and wildly fun, even during these COVID times. For those seeking a SoCal getaway, Palm Springs is a viable option. A number of their restaurants opened back up for takeout and delivery and the resorts and boutique hotels that line the main city streets are once again up and running, eager for visitors! Here is how I spent my weekend.

Where to Stay

1.) Get inspired at the Parker Palm Springs Location: 4200 E Palm Canyon Dr, Palm Springs, CA 92264 Phone: (760) 770-5000

This hotel is impressive and thoughtfully curated. Until this trip, I had never been a guest to Parker Palm Springs. This location is very unique with it’s modern and eclectic interior design to their elevated lemonade stand. I had way too much fun taking photos around the unique hotel grounds and exploring the many different areas of the Parker itself.

Where to Eat

2.) Have a scrumptious brunch at Farm Location: 6 La Plaza, Palm Springs, CA 92262 Phone: (760) 322-2724

Just a couple minutes away from Parker is a spot called Farm. My friend could not recommend this cozy little spot enough, so I had to check it out. The restaurant has some of the best French cuisine in Palm Springs and is the ideal place to have a Saturday or Sunday brunch with your friends. Farm serves up every classic French staple you can think of (their list of crepes is huge!), but they are widely known for their delectable Croque Madame. If you are not familiar with what that is, it is basically a grilled ham and cheese sandwich with a sunny side egg on top. Regardless of what you order, you’re guaranteed a delectable meal and your appetite will definitely be satisfied! The new stay at home guidelines require California restaurants to only do takeout and delivery options, so I suggest picking up your meal and finding a nice park to enjoy it in.

3.) Explore!

Our group mainly stayed within the hotel grounds and just appreciated the quiet moments that came to us. As stated above, the Parker is a unique hotel that has many different areas that beckon to be explored.

4.) Step back in time by visiting one of the vintage / consignment stores

Before heading back to LA, our group made a few stops to do a little window shopping at the number of vintage and consignment stores that line the main Palm Springs streets.

Adventure is wherever you want it to be, and for this weekend, it was in Palm Springs. This short trip was a wonderful weekend filled with catching up with old friends and relaxing my mind and body. You can see photos more from my trip below and through my IG posts and stories!
