Tacko's Adoption Story

Fun Fact: I LOVE animals!

If you have ever met me, you may have a slight idea about how much animals have impacted my life, and how much they continue to do so.

Last year, our family decided we wanted to add a new member. We already had a sweet cat, Bobo, and an angel of a dog named Lady. While Lady is so special to us, our twin daughter Grace, who is so close to Lady really wanted to support animal shelters and give Lady a little brother or sister. At 12 years old, we also thought that Lady could gain a renewed sense of purpose by having an energetic pup around. Lastly, we wanted to give Austin, our twin son, more responsibility before going away to college. Adopting another dog provided the perfect opportuntiy to do so.

That was when Tacko came into the picture.

One day, I was at Salty Mane Studio in Santa Monica, and a few representatives from Tobie’s Small Dog Rescue came in with rescue pups - what an experience to have your hair done while playing with some sweet puppies! I enjoyed getting to know the rescue and their mission. Shortly after, I followed them on Instagram and began to donate to their organization.

After following them on Instagram, I came to the conclusion that if the right puppy came along, they would be ours! Alas, one day I was scrolling and saw the most precious litter of puppies on their Instagram. In that little bundle was our puppy, Tacko! Adopting Tacko was truly an incredible experience. She is a gift, a blessing, and our family loves her so much. And, ofcourse, Lady appreciates having a new companion!
