A Day in Malibu | Travel Guide
I’ve traveled around the world every year for the past 12 years. I’ve visited Bora Bora, Thailand, Dubai and when I started this blog, it was the first time in a long time that I would be home (due to world circumstances) and I thought now would be a perfect time to share all my recommendations for my favorite places to travel in my own backyard.
Malibu is truly a place of beauty. Whenever I need some fresh or air or want to take a joy ride, I go through Malibu to soak in the crisp, clean ocean air. Unlike Santa Monica, Malibu is a quiet, peaceful part of the PCH. Here are a few spots that I would recommend to anyone visiting Malibu for the first time!
Morning
Head up the PCH towards One Gun Ranch. While you are heading there, stop at Café Luxxe on the PCH to grab a coffee and a sweet treat. The strawberry crumble is my favorite! Once you’ve reached your destination, go for a six mile hike in the One Gun Ranch area, then take a tour on the grounds and learn about the super soil! Make sure to look at the beautiful landscape and taste the amazing superfoods they grow and are served to the local Malibu restaurants.
Mid Morning/ Afternoon
After you come back down the hill from One Gun Ranch, head out to the Country Mart for shopping and to refuel! Some of my favorite shops at the Country Mart are Fred Segal, Teressa Foglia and Max Fields. If you’re looking for some healthy bites to nibble on while shopping, grab a juice or smoothie at Sun Life Organics. Once you’re done at the Country Mart, head down to the Malibu Pier for great local shopping and eats! A little fun fact is that Malibu Farm is owned by the same owner as One Gun Ranch. Put your name down for a table at Malibu Farm and stroll down the end of the pier to check out the fishermen, do some shopping and by the time you come back, your table will be ready! A must have at Malibu Farm is a frozen beverage. They use all organic ingredients and I personally stick to the frose or the frozen margarita. Afterwards, kick off your shoes and head down the stairs to Surfrider Beach where you can check out the surfers day and night.
Evening
When dinner time hits, dust off your feet, put on a cute caftan and head over to Nobu for a light dinner and watch the sunset. They have the best sushi (the hand rolls are my favorite!) and everything is delicious and fresh! If you aren’t tired and are in need of a nightcap (and you know someone)..Soho Malibu is right next door! This is a great place for a quality cocktail with chill music that will soothe you until you are ready to head back home. Two of my favorite Malibu hotels are Malibu Inn and Surfrider Hotel and are close to all of the fun places I listed in this blog!
