3 Places in California to Visit in the Fall

  1. Oak Glen

If you’re looking for a quick day trip to transport you to the closest apple orchards, look no further than Oak Glen. Located in the southern part of San Bernardino National Forest— it’s about a 2-3 hour drive from Los Angeles. Home to many farms that you and your loved ones can enjoy, you are bound to feel the autumnal spirit that usually can’t be felt in sunny California. Most farms offer apple picking, cider tastings, and overall fall vibes to last you the whole season. If you want to extend your stay a bit longer than a day, book a nearby accommodation to spend the whole weekend.

2. Ojai

Head north for an hour or two and spend some time in Ojai! The Ojai Valley Inn has special autumnal events & activities all season long for everyone to enjoy. They said it best, “A moment to take in a sunset, to gather around the table and to hear the gentle breeze.” Some activities they offer are hay wagon Rides, pumpkin painting, harvest moon candle making, honey tasting, mindful jewelry making, floral design, wine & paint, and sooo much more! Ojai Valley Inn is a beautiful place, so whether you take part in an activity, have a culinary experience, or just walk around the grounds, you are bound to have a good time. You can visit their website here for more information.

3. Napa Valley

Napa Valley is the perfect place to wine and dine with your closest girl friends, significant other, or even your family! California is known for its beaches and nice weather all year round, and that’s one of the things I love about it! But, when Fall comes around, I start to miss the fall colors usually seen on the east coast and other places all around the world. Lucky for us, Napa Valley is only a 1-hour flight or 6-8 hour drive from Los Angeles that will have you truly experiencing Fall. Come for the wine tastings and tours, leave with memories and photos to last a lifetime.

I hope this sparked some ideas on your next Fall trip! I know people usually get excited to travel in the Spring and Summer months, so I hope this also gets you excited to travel during the Fall and Winter. There are so many gorgeous travel destinations only a couple hours away that will leave you feeling refreshed and ready for the holidays. Take some time to slow down and enjoy life with those you hold closest or even make it a solo trip to really focus on yourself. Whatever you choose, I hope you find some R&R on your trip!
